Sync your G1 with Outlook, Yahoo! Mail or AOL

One of the naysayers’ biggest gripes about the G1 upon it’s launch was it’s percieved monopolisation of email by gmail - in that google’s popular mail service was the only one supported natively.  As the presenters at the G1 launch so eloquently noted however, the Android platform it’s open nature allows developers to program pretty much any functionality in their apps, and as they suggested - it didn’t take long for someone to create what Funambol have come up with. Visa to create Android Payment App

Major credit card company Visa Inc. have announced they will develop software for the Android platform and in turn the t-mobile G1, which will allow it’s customers to recieve alerts about purchases on their phone, allow them to find ATMs and nearby retail outlets where they can recieve special VISA offers (through use of the inbuilt locational mapping of the G1 and other android phones), eventually leading to cash and cardless instant transactions at the retail level, using only your Android device.
